Nushu X
The Nushu X is a smart shoe developed by Magnes AG, a spinoff from the Multiscale Robotics Lab of ETH Zurich, Switzerland.
The Nushu provides vibrational cueing to either confirm that you are walking correctly, or provide a rhythm for you to follow. It also analyzes every step to give you in-depth details about how you are walking so you can clearly track your progress.
We will be hosting events in Sacramento and Fresno to give you an opportunity to try the Nushu X for yourself. See below for the schedule of events. You can also book an appointment to get a gait and balance assessment using the Nushu X to analyze your movements.
How to get your Nushu X smart shoes
If possible, we recommend that you try the Nushu X to see how it works and to get the right fit. When you are ready to make a purchase, visit the Magnes shop. We've outlined a few steps and recommendations below to help you with the process.

Step 1
Select your country and click on the picture of the Nushu X.
Step 2
Select your shoe size, care plan, and product package. Then click "add to cart." Scroll back up to the top of the page and you'll see that the item has been added to your cart. Click on the cart icon to go to the checkout page.
Shoe Size
Men's Sizes
Range: 5.5 to 12.5
We recommend going a half size bigger than your normal shoe size.
Women's Sizes
Range: 6.5 to 13.5
We recommend going a half size bigger than your normal shoe size.
Care Plan
Nushu X Care
If you select this option, Magnes will replace your shoes with a brand-new pair after two years. This is a great option if you see yourself using the shoes a lot, especially if you plan to wear them outside.
(Please note: Nushu X is not designed for running and cannot get wet from rain, snow, or other sources.)
Without Nushu X Care
We recommend that you go with this option if you think you will only wear your Nushu X occasionally, or if you are especially hard on shoes and you feel like you might need to replace them earlier than in two years.
Product Package
Starter
This is the barebones package. Select this option if you just want the shoes and vibrational feedback. With this package, you will not be able to track your progress or share your data with others, including your healthcare team.
Pro
This package includes the Nushu X app, currently available only for iPhones or iPads. With the app, you can track your progress and share your data with others.
Premium
This package includes the app and a quarterly call from an expert who can review your data with you.

Book an in-home assessment to evaluate your balance and gait using the Nushu X. You'll also get the opportunity to test out the Nushu X and see how it can help you to walk with confidence. Call or text to book your assessment.
Fresno Assessments: 559.369.4284
You can choose to have your balance and gait assessment at our facilities or request to have an in-home evaluation. At the end of your assessment, you'll receive a balance and gait report. Call or text to book your assessment.

From Doctor to Patient: A personal experience
When: April 6, 2024 from 11am - 1pm
Join us for the April meeting of the Movers and Shakers of Fresno
Michael Habibe, MD is an emergency medicine specialist in Fresno with over 32 years of experience in medicine. Dr. Habibe will be joining us to share the experience of being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease as a physician. He hopes that in talking about his own personal journey of coming to terms with the diagnosis that others can learn from what he has gone through. He will also share important insight on how to thoroughly research new treatment options and how to spot scams so you and your loved ones do not become victims.
In addition, Dr. Flores will join us to discuss the UCLA PEG-GUT Study, the aims of the study, how to enroll, the latest findings, and what it means for the Parkinson's community.
After the meeting, we will have the Nushu X available for people to try. Don't miss your chance to test out this innovative smart shoe!
